Two new Vinnova grants for LU Open

We are happy to announce that two LU Open applications have been granted funding within the realm of Vinnovas challenge-driven innovation funds (UDI – first level). Each project has been granted SEK 500.000 to perform a 6 month feasibility study of the potentials within:


Granular Positioning Systems for Improved Health Logistics
Development of a system for indoor positioning that allows for significant cuts of costs in health care through better governance and management of flows for equipment, technology and patients.

Project partners:

Citizen-centered health care – data collection for vital health parameters
Increase people ́s participation in the care process by providing solutions to an easy and safe way to measure and see their vital parameters such as blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, heart rate and respiratory rate.

The project requires cross-functional collaboration between clinical staff, developers of consumer products in medical technology (wearables), specialists in secure data transfer, specialists in data validation and experts in visualization of data and business intelligence.

Project partners:

Both projects will be running in the period August 1st 2015 – January 21st 2016.
